Bench jumps is an advanced level cardiovascular exercise that requires the use of a bench or other stable, elevated surface. Start by standing in front of the bench about 12 inches. Swing your arms back, squat down and explosively jump onto the bench. Step down and repeat. A beginner variation is to skip up with one leg with the second leg following up, similar to a step up. Be sure to breath out with each jump. If you are not comfortable jumping up onto a bench or you are a beginner you can perform the skip jumps instead.
