Medicine Ball Sit Up
MEDICINE BALL SIT UP
The main difference with this version of the sit up versus a traditional sit up is that your feet are not locked into place. By not having your feet secure, it forces your core to work harder to stabilize.
Since your feet are not held down you want to extend your legs so that they are only slightly bent (the further away your feet are the easier it is to perform the exercise). Lying on your back with your feet extended, hold the medicine ball up over your heard with your arms extended so that your head is off the ground. Once in the start position, contract your abs and lift your upper torso up so that arms are up over your head and only your butt and heels are on the ground. Be sure to breathe out on your way up. Slowly lower back down to the start position.
